- Replace your cooking sprays with an oil mister
- Replace your paper towels and napkins with reusable napkins
- Install a simple, or ellaborate, grey water system in your home to cut down on water use and costs
- Create a naturescape in your front and back yard
- Begin a compost pile, thereby reducing your organic waste, and improving the quality of your plants and landscape
- Instead of plastic bags, reuse the plastic containers from sour cream, etc, to store your vegetables, sandwich meat, and leftovers.
- Use a toaster oven instead of a conventional oven when cooking smaller items/meals
- Buy in bulk
- Be mindful of how your purchases are packaged (Plastic? Styrofoam?) and try to avoid the unneccessary.
- Switch from soda to seltzer water, or invest in a carbonated water maker
